Mentorship for Growth and the Planet

Halley C., a Supply Chain Major from the University of Arkansas, describes herself as warm, kind, and a work in progress. Halley had heard that Supply Chain was a more male-dominated field. “I wanted to work in an environment where I could learn directly from the female leaders who broke the glass ceiling and paved the way for young businesswomen like me to pursue Supply Chain.”

Passionate about the environment, immediately after accepting her role as a Customer Logistics Co-Op at Kimberly-Clark, Halley sought out female leaders. She connected with Lisa M., Kimberly-Clark’s VP of Safety & Sustainability, to discuss sustainability in the organization’s Supply Chain. “Lisa is a role model to me, so hearing her say that I have the right mindset to work in sustainability and learning about legitimate avenues to do so was an incredible motivator for my future career ambitions.”

Halley didn’t stop there. While at Kimberly-Clark, she learned to develop her own leadership skills as a Co-Chair on the leadership board for Kimberly-Clark’s Co-Op and Intern Network (COIN), one of our many Employee Resource Groups.

“Helping take better care of our planet and fellow humans is my top motivation behind pursing business in the first place, so I wanted to get my foot in the door in a company where I could see myself pursuing that dream.” Halley says, “I loved how Kimberly-Clark puts sustainability and caring for others at the forefront of their business model.” Throughout her time at Kimberly-Clark, she “beamed with pride learning about all the ways the company supports communities around the globe and actively fights stigma standing in the way of process and equality.”

Halley’s advice for others looking to Co-Op at Kimberly-Clark, “Pursue it at full force! Kimberly-Clark wants passionate people who genuinely care on their team, so how you approach the opportunity to be a part of it reflects who you are… more than you’d think. “
